It seems someone wanted to outshine Tarantino and Rodriguez, but they forgot that a few decent gore effects and quality action are far from everything, even in an action movie. The middle part is terribly boring, and not even Salma Hayek in any type of outfit can save it. One of the worst purely action films in a very long time, mixing a number references of underground trash on dusty VHS tapes, but it just doesn't work. ()
Bloody video game theater, actually a one-act film, which is mainly about Salma Hayek liquidating assassins trying to take down her and her family. Don't expect more than skillfully shot and gradually enhanced action scenes, a nice runtime and occasionally slightly black humor, and hopefully you won't be disappointed. ()
Full action and violent package!! This is proper guilty pleasure, the director knew exactly what action fans wanted to see! Hot chicks, one closed house, lots of dead bodies, black humour, great cinematography, perfect style, lots of action and quantum of perfectly done gore (some scenes made me tear my hair out, the whole room is painted with blood and bitches all over the floor). What sucks is that there are no proper fights, but otherwise it's a non-stop action and adrenaline ride with a very attractive Salma Hayek, who knows that leggings and cleavage just work on guys. Very little was missing for a full score Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption be damned, this nothing for the intellectual geeks. 80% ()
As long as Joe Lynch keeps coming up with stupid shit, it's awesome (whenever he pulls out a grenade, you’re set for the best scene of the movie), in the lowest sense of the word. It fails hard when he tries to do Tarantino or when Salma generates an acting performance (where are my boobs?!). Unfortunately, these scenes are so plentiful and so tiresome that you start to wonder about the elementary logic of it all and here it's all done. Anyway, I wasn't expecting such outbursts of explicit violence, so I'll add a small plus to the three stars. It sucks, but for the money... ()
This is a pleasantly gritty and pumped-up ride, and Salma Hayek handles it with absolute ease. The gore is sometimes a bit too much, but it fits. I just wish there weren't so many digital special effects. But this film has drive, and the unstoppable woman with this physique is definitely a big plus. It's nice to look at. ()
