Out of their lives for 12 years, Ray is on a mission to re-connect with his daughter and ex-wife. Unfortunately his efforts to bridge the gap with his daughter only lead to chaos as all of his good intentions turn to comic catastrophe. Twelve years ago, Alice left Ray, taking their daughter Abbie with her and leaving him deep in depression. However, when his ill father asks to see his granddaughter before it's too late, Ray reluctantly agrees and heads to his hometown to track down his estranged family. Only he finds Alice remarried to Frank, an overly ambitious fitness guru and Ray's old high school physical education teacher driven by his dream of bringing a new revolutionary running technique to the world. The now teenaged Abbie, a competitive cross-country runner who will do anything to earn a gold medal, is the perfect guinea pig for this technique. But Ray's bumbling efforts to bridge the gap between him and his daughter only lead to chaos as all of his good intentions turn to comic catastrophe. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)

This movie does not look bad since the very beginning. Mostly because it takes place in a typically Irish location surrounded by a sea barrier and already that is something that makes it really attractive for me. Even the actors seem really good. It’s a pity that the way of narration is so half-baked. I had a feeling this movie lacked the final, pretty important step – the drive that would make me happily watch the characters for ninety minutes without the need to send them a series of yellow cards finished with a red one. The story in itself was not so bad. It essentially was a pretty brutal social drama, only it was told in such an unfortunate way that after eighty minutes I was glad that it was over. ()
