Good again for me. Marlon Wayans is a crazy and excellent comedian, his mimicry, screaming and especially by fucking Annabell he gained my respect, because I have never seen something so dirty and funny in my life, for me already a cult scene. I laughed a lot. The chickens, shiloh and the Mexican neighbor were also not bad. 65% ()
It's quite a miracle that the second part is better than the first. The humor is really two categories higher here, even though we can't avoid awkward scenes where Wayans is fooling around with inanimate objects. I like that parodies of many more horror movies are included here than in the first one and the story is sealed with quite a good continuity. There's also more going on here. Within reason, it was quite watchable, but still nothing special. ()
A Haunted House 2 isn't a great comedy, but it still clicked for me. There are moments here that could easily hold up in a serious horror film, but most importantly, there are jokes that aren't just dumb. Yes, the banalities prevail, but this time I felt that someone tried and wanted the entertainment not to be completely stupid. It worked. ()
This was an absolute gem among parodies and it can easily rank among the better ones like Scary Movie. Marlon Wayans was excellent and I can't imagine anyone else here. The film takes the most famous horror movies like Annabelle, The Conjuring and Sinister and doesn't spare them at all, on the contrary, it deals them brutal blows and I laughed out loud for 90% of the film. The jokes are spot on, and, unlike its weaker brethren like Disaster Movie and other dumb parodies, it maintains a continuous storyline, and when it has nothing to say it doesn't resort to violence and stupid humour, it just keeps on going. It didn't lose its breath, especially in the finale, and maintained a solid quality until the end. For me, one of the best parodies, it gives similar films a good name. Two classes better than the mediocre first part, which you might as well skip. ()
