I noticed that Daniel Auteuil has been after a human drama from the point of view of ordinary people for a long time. Before The Winter Chill is actually a similar story. An ordinary, human story is told through a pleasant camera and subtle progress in a way that will make you still think about it a couple of days after watching. Frankly, I like movies like this a lot. ()
Seen during the Challenge Tour - Movie hunt: Task number 18 - a film with your favorite actor, actress. A traditional strong film experience from France, I would even say a cinematic delight. Although the plot is almost thriller-like, the story paradoxically flows very slowly, the camera plays with long shots, the characters talk little or even remain silent. However, more is conveyed by this than if they were constantly talking. Before the Winter is surrounded by mystery for me, lots of questions remain unanswered or left to the viewer's interpretation. I still have to think about the film and ponder on the individual pieces of the puzzle, as well as the lyrics of the closing song. Daniel probably really can't disappoint me, and when Leïla is added to that, I am more than satisfied. On the other hand, I acknowledge and understand the viewer who might find the film boring, it can seem that way. ()
