Tokyo Dogs

It's not that great. If you're looking for a crime story, detective story, you won't find much here. Granted, the main characters are cops and there are some cases solved, but a person who likes detective stories just a little bit will be disappointed (plus the shootouts are a joke... they looked like neighborhood boys running around shooting at each other with BB guns). That's not what this story is about. It's primarily based on the Ogurin-Hiro duo. You wouldn’t believe how many words they trade with each other, worse than old ladies in a marketplace. But it's funny. It loses steam here and there, but as a relaxing thing to turn your brain off and be charmed by two pretty faces, it's a very good choice. For the other sex there's Yuriko, but I found her rather bland; after all, keeping up with those main mouths would be a lung-buster. The story is simple, to the point where you wonder why there is so much drug dealing going on in Japan if it's this easy to collar the criminals. Plus calling Soo's mom at the most critical moments was... funny at first, then annoying. It's got lots of minor flaws, but it's entertaining/fun. Gangan seiji! (07.01.2013)
