You might think that any potential this has is wasted in the title, but strangely this isn’t true here. Because the enthusiastic zombie Nietzsche readers are excellent and intentionally funny throughout the movie. That is if you are in the right mood. Although it’s evident that the entire budget fell on the opening and closing scenes alone, but in fact due to the unashamed cheapness this works really well. Which, in view of the “subject matter", is a pleasant surprise. I hope they make a sequel. I’m very intrigued to know what bitten fate awaits Pepe the faithful mule. ()
Softcore porn for necrophiliacs, lol! This highly anticipated horror trash turned out to be better than I though – i.e. it was watchable. Englund has always been good playing weird perverts and that applies here, too; actually, he’s the best by far, the other actors deliver performances that are typical for bad B-movies. The make-up effects are quite good, which is something that can’t be said about the special effects, they are really terrible. The story is, it could be said, innovative – I didn’t expect to come across a new evolutionary form of the film zombie. In short, Zombie Strippers is not a big surprise. Collectors of cinema insanity will surely dig it, everyone else should ignore it. Yeah, it’s bullshit, but is not boring, so 45%. ()
There are hints of references, perverse detachment, and fan enthusiasm, but at the same time, it's trash with all the trimmings. In many ways, it's more bizarre than any of Jenna's porn films, but for a true "artistic" experience the director lacks a little more skill in scene timing and overall gradation. The zombie strip war is pretty cool, although, in my opinion, Jenna only needed to wipe off her make-up. Her best years are probably behind her, but some young competitors might still envy her. The rating asks for anything between the two poles of the scale, but the golden mean would be unfair in this case because even though there are plenty of similar films from twenty-thirty years ago in the archives, nowadays you’d need a lot of self-confidence to make something like this. I’m giving it 4 stars, with the addition that Robert Englund looks like Bill Murray, he really does! :) ()
