Je veux voir

Actress Catherine Deneuve arrives to Lebanon where she is supposed to attend an official event. The film, though, opens with her words 'I want to see it', without making it clear what exactly it is that she wants to see. We can only presume it is the south of the country ravaged by several wars. Despite the disturbed situation she and her escort set out on the journey -no shocking pictures of Lebanon are revealed by the camera. The main aim here is to open a debate asking 'What can be seen in a film?'. (Summer Film School)
