This film tells the extraordinary true story of a WW2 top-secret mission that shaped a nation's destiny. In April 1940, German soldiers descended upon Oslo with three targets: the King, the government and Norway's gold reserves. Within a few hours, parliamentary secretary Fredrik Haslund brings together an unlikely team, including his sister, bankers, truck drivers, and a famous poet. Their mission is to move 50 tonnes of gold across the country to reach an Allied shipping convoy, outsmarting and evading the approaching Nazi forces. (Viaplay)

Englisch Transporting gold, or 52 tons of Norwegian national reserves being pursued by occupiers, monotony, and an attempt to add comedic elements. It could have had the precision of The Train with Lancaster (not the bomber), but it lacked Frankenheimer's touch. There could have been someone melting those bricks and pouring them on the heads of the Nazi Viseryses, but it didn’t have Finnish hero Sisu. When, at the end, the ex-Stalinist Grieg started shitting out crystalline limestone again on the ship, the captain’s line: “Shut up already...” seemed fitting. ()
