When a 747 airplane collides with a smaller plane during a flight, it loses its pilot. The only way the passengers can be saved is if the control tower can get a pilot onboard to land the craft. (official distributor synopsis)

Sure, it's not as well-developed as the first movie, but as an action film, it actually works quite well, if we overlook the fact that it's possible to pilot a plane with a significant hole in the cockpit and the only effect would be a bit of cold. I think of this as a B-movie, and I enjoyed it as a B-movie. ()
The sequel to Airport follows the formula of shorter runtime – longer action. And although the action looks rather ridiculous from today's point of view, the creators' efforts to keep the audience on the edge of their seats for as long as possible should be highlighted. The surprise of the film is that the main star is far from being Charlton Heston, but rather Karen Black. ()
