Plots(1)
In the castle town of Midland, a new king has come to power through treachery and violence. His demonic agents victimize the citizens, until one night a mysterious warrior comes to destroy them. Known as the Black Swordsman, he has an unrelenting grudge against the king. Before the twilight of Midland, a young mercenary named Guts fights for his fortune on the front lines. There he meets Griffith, who is charismatic, graceful and deadly. Griffith’s mercenary company, the Band of the Hawk, is a powerful military force and the talk of elite political circles. Between the strength of Guts anger and Griffith's ambition, the face of midland will never be the same. (official distributor synopsis)

This wasn't love at first sight. I criticized the simplicity of the battles, while the atmosphere had the false veneer of fantasy. However, as Guts' journey with the Band of the Falcon continued, Griffith and his comrades easily wrapped me around their fingers, to the point where there was no point fighting it. I became tangled in intrigues, fell in love with Casca, and most of all, I yearned to be close to those moments when Guts wielded his invincible sword. And no matter what ending the viewer anticipates, they still cannot adequately prepare for the captivating and (even though unfortunately enforced) incredibly daring epic drama. But now, words are unnecessary; anyone who is unfamiliar with this should run and watch it, because this journey simply must be experienced. ()
