And I got what I wanted. I actually chose the movie of my own accord without any pressure being exerted on me, even though my experiences tell me that these Czech-Slovak or Slovak-Czech affairs rarely please me. Well, even this time it didn't turn out the best because the film dragged on for me. The script seemed uninteresting to me, the creators (yet again) decided to deal with the socialist past, and I find all these inspections mostly annoying and uninteresting. I haven't seen a single piece like this where I could say that the creators really nailed the theme. Essentially, empty straw was threshed throughout, I certainly didn't find any humor (unless it was about the subplot with the engagement ring, whose meaning I basically didn't grasp). I cannot praise the depressive atmosphere either, mainly because it arose due to the not-so-brilliant work of the trio (!!!) of screenwriters. The result for me was a somewhat uninteresting, sentimental oddity that had nothing to offer me. / Lesson: I always expect the worst from both a communist and a devout believer. (10/02/2024)
