Author Deák Ferenc is awarded with the Ovidon-prize and he becomes a popular man at once. At the celebration held in his apartment people in black coats take him without notice and questioning begins in a workshop. He has to show an alibi for the time of a murder committed in 1949. Though Deák has not lived at that time yet, he starts running to and fro in despair, being entangled into the most impossible adventures. He finds himself on a highway, hitchhiking. The row of cars is heading for the death camp, therefore he gets off. He is shot by the Hungarian Nazi at the Danube bank, he submerges. He wakes up in his bed. He wants to get over to his wife in the other room, but behind the door there is the infinite sea. (official distributor synopsis)
