Nothing's All Bad is Mikkel Munch-Fals' first feature film. In the film we meet four people, who all long for love and cross paths in unpredictable ways. We meet Ingeborg (Bodil Jørgensen), who no longer feels attractive, and the young guy Jonas (Sebastian Jessen), who is so attractive, that he can literally make a living off it. We meet Anna (Mille Hoffmeyer Lehfeldt), a younger, physically disabled woman, and Anders (Henrik Prip) an older man with a mental issue. All of them are determined to fight for a better life, which causes the lives of the the four people to become entwined. (official distributor synopsis)

English Denmark keeps delivering one impressive film after another, and Nothing's All Bad is no exception. Like many Danish films, it maintains a tense atmosphere throughout, only to explode in a brutal way at the end. This one, however, approaches things from a slightly different angle. There were plenty of moments where I felt a strong second-hand embarrassment for the characters, but by the end, I was genuinely surprised by how it all came together. The original title is as ironic as the film itself and a sharp commentary on the society we live in. All in all, this was another remarkable experience for me. ()
