Plots(1)
Soji Mitsuka of Gonna Be the Twin-Tail is an ordinary high schooler with an extraordinary obsession. Twin tails are his fire, his air, his will to live! But when a mysterious woman from another world enlists his help to fight hideous monsters with various moe fetishes, Soji must transform into a powerful pigtailed...girl? With the help of his childhood friend, the class president, and his endless devotion to pigtails, Soji and his crew form a twin-tailed threesome to take on the monsters who feed on the "attribute power" of humans. But Soji's new pigtailed powers come with a price; his surging popularity as the new heroin in town makes the twin-tailed trend explode, giving the monsters ample attribute powers to feed upon! Don't miss the action in Gonna Be the Twin-Tail! (Madman Entertainment)

I watched the first episode with an astonished expression and thoughts like "Oh my God, what is this again?". Then I concluded that I was not going to get into this. I have seen a good few anime series about various obsessions and fetishes. Usually, there are obsessions focused on women's chests, lingerie, or even accessories like glasses, although I have never seen the obsession for girls' braids, and I do not think I want to. The beginning is a classic - Mitsuka Souji is a freshman student starting a new school and he is normal except that he loves the two-braid hairstyle, or Twintail, above all else. The alien Thuearle chooses him to protect the girls with braids because a bunch of lizard-aliens is after them. For this purpose, he is given a magical bracelet that turns Souji himself into a braided girl with superpowers, aka TailRed. Otherwise, there are two other important characters, Souji's friend Aika (unexpectedly a girl with pigtails), who has a thing for Souji. At the end of the first episode tt also looks like the student council president (another girl with pigtails), who is kidnapped from TailRed (Souji in girl form) after he rescues her, will play an important role. So much for the summary of the first episode; sorry for possible spoilers. Most of this information is also available for the description of this anime series on various forums, and thus this information would probably have reached you anyway. If anyone finds the summary of the first episode given by me to be a weird mess with a lot of emphasis on braids, then that is exactly the feeling I had while watching it. Sometimes I can get past such a weakness if the anime series is at least funny or a character interests me a lot, but unfortunately, that did not happen with this show. ()
