So, it’s French, directed by Claude Zidi, and I went in expecting a solid comedy. What I got instead was an even better adventure with a bit of a crime twist. Thierry Lhermitte absolutely nails it—he's such a great actor, and I wish I was more familiar with his earlier work. It was a blast watching him completely own his role. And Miou-Miou? Just so charming! Everything in this film clicked perfectly. Honestly, if it had just a touch more humor, I’d have no hesitation giving it a full five stars. ()
Not bad, not bad at all... But it is fair to say that it was only James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis who turned a good idea into a first-class spectacle. The bottom line is that it is far from the swing and wit of True Lies, and I am a lover of French comedies and I usually look down on remakes of them. ()
