The Discovery of Heaven

What happens when God finds out that people are not able to follow the Ten Commandments? He sends angels to Earth to set things right. But what if the angels forget their mission? Instead, they fall in love with the same girl, who then gets pregnant. Yet which of them fathered little Quinten, whose supernatural abilities predestine him for redeeming unreformable mankind? In his second directing stint which is based on a popular novel, Dutch actor Jeroen Krabbé follows the transformation of the Netherlands and playfully, using ironic references to politics of the time, points out the never-ending cycle of cause and effect.
