The deranged caretaker of a Hollywood wax museum collects live specimens and encases them in wax. They are then transformed into hideous zombies who walk in the twilight world of the undead. (Verleiher-Text)

Another variation on the classic The Mystery of the Wax Museum. Vincent Rinard works as a make-up artist on a film, he has a crush on actress Marie Morgan and they're about to leave together, but producer Max Black won't have it, so at a party he throws alcohol in Vincent's face and then lights it up. The fire burns him badly... Later, Vincent opens a museum with life-like wax figures. Whenever someone disappears, a wax replica of them soon appears in the museum. The police are on high alert, and when Tony Deen, Marie's fiancée, disappears just before their wedding, the search is on. Mad Vincent decides to take revenge on everyone. The mediocre story gets a boost in the last quarter, when lives are on the line. For me, perhaps the most disturbing moment was when the main string motif from Jaws was played, making the music famous. Good for one viewing, but more likely to appeal to fans of old horror films today. ()
