The story of three old friends who find themselves fighting with each other when their lost friend's will is open to reveal his ultimate betting game. Nacho, Santi, Diego and Victor, now in their late 30s, have been friends since childhood. When they were young they used to test their friendship through peculiar bets which ended breaking their group. Nacho was barred from the gang after a really nasty situation took place. Nacho dies and he will try to test his old friends again. Whomever appears more on TV will win his fortune. A nice sum of 17 million euros. (Verleiher-Text)

Filmische Challenge Nummer zwei in der Quarantäne - Erforschung der internationalen Kinematografie, Spanien. Ich musste in die Challenge auch irgendeine Komödie aufnehmen, damit ich nicht nur herzzerreißende Dramen anschaue. Von Ziemlich beste Freunde habe ich viel erwartet und mir viel versprochen, doch in der Folge bin ich insgesamt enttäuscht. Doch so ist es leider oft, wenn man sich zu sehr freut, es muss nicht erwartungsgemäß ausgehen. Es kam mir wenig witzig vor, und auf eine entfernte Art erinnerte mich der Film an Catch Me!, eine misslungene amerikanische Komödie. Zumindest kam hier recht oft irgendeine hübsche spanische Mieze vorbei.

I haven’t seen a comedy this good in a really long time. Every time when another brutal scene was approaching, I was waiting for it to come. And it always did. The movie is full of amazing ideas and simply flawless scenes. The Spanish have really showed off. Not that they’ve done it for the first time, but I have to say I really did not expect this movie to be so amazing. The very first scene with the soccer fans already hinted at how brutal this was going to be. I hope this movie becomes more widely known, because it would really deserve it.
