Katharine Isabelle se narodila jako Katherine Isobel Murray v kanadském Vancouveru 2. listopadu 1981. Narodila se do rodiny provázené s filmem, kde snad pouze její matka Gail se filmovému průmyslu aktivně nevěnovala. Otec Greame Murray působil jako tvůrce speciálních efektů mimo jiné i pro kultovní seriál AKTA X, kde jeho dcera ztvárnila epizodní roli.
