20/06/2013 - The coproduction platform of Paris Cinéma presents 17 projects notably signed by Cristi Puiu, Terence Davies, Daniel Calparsoro and Mads Matthiesen

Last few days before the closing of sign-ups for professionals who wish to take part in the Paris Project coproduction platform, which will take place from June 30th to July 3rd as part of the 11th Paris Cinéma Festival (June 28th to July 8th, 2013). 

Amongst the 17 titles selected from over 400 candidates, the project The Manor House (a Mandragora Films production) by Romanian director Cristi Puiu (selected in 2005 and 2011 for Un Certain Regard in Cannes with The Death of Mr Lazarescu [+see also:

It is also worth mentioning the German-Serbian-Spanish coproduction (UnaFilm, Art&Popcorn, Morena Films) All Panthers are Pink by Spanish director Daniel Calparsoro (five nominations for the 2013 Goya for Invasor [+see also:

film profile]), inspired by a gang from the Balkans who specialized in stealing jewellery and roamed Europe from 1993 to 2012.

Scandinavian production will also be well-represented in Paris with Emma by Danish director Mads Matthiesen (rewarded in Sundance in 2012 with Teddy Bear [+see also:

film profile] – a Zentropa Entertainments production) and Into the Grey by Jonas Matzow Gulbrandsen (Film Farms – Norway).

The Balkans will also be present with Butcher’s Heart by Antonio Nuic (managed by the Croatian company Propeler Film) and The Five Skyscrapers by Rastko Petrovic (produced by the Serbian company Film House Kiselo Dete)

As for European projects, Eva by Kristina Wagenbauer (Ventura Film – Switzerland) stands out together with Moneyboys by C.B. Yilin (WildArt Film – Austria), and Exotic Pictures (coproduced by Germany and the Netherlands) by Indonesian director Edwin (in competition in Berlin in 2012 with Postcards from the Zoo [+see also:
