The Grand Prix of CinEast 2023 goes to Citizen Saint by Tinatin Kajrishvili. The film will be repeated on Sun 22/10 at 7 pm at the Cinémathèque. Tickets are available here.
During the Awards Ceremony the creation of the Eastern European Film Festival Network (EEFFN) was announced, bringing together CinEast, GoEast FF (Wiesbaden, DE), BEAST IFF (Porto, PT), Eastern Neighbours FF (The Hague, NL), A l'Est FF (Rouen, FR), and EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal (Vienna, AT) to increase the visibility of Eastern European cinema across Europe.

The Official Opening of the 16th edition will take place on 5 October at 7 pm at neimēnster. The ceremony will be followed by the Opening film - the extraordinary documentary from Ukraine In the Rearview by Maciek Hamela, recent winner of the Sheffield DocFest.

The energetic folk band Yagody from Ukraine will perform live at the festival's Opening event at Melusina on Sat 7/10 from 8 pm. Followed by a DJ party and with Ukrainian food available! Get your tickets here (5 EUR from each ticket goes to our charity project).

A special charity screening of the award-winning film Klondike on 12 June at the Cinémathèque, organised in the framework of "CinEast presents" cycle of screenings outside of the festival and "Ukrainian Days in Luxembourg". We managed to collect 1036,96 EUR! Thank you!

Thanks to your generosity we managed to collect 16500 EUR through our CinEast4Ukraine charity project. We sent an equipped ambulance and some sleeping bags to help those in need in Ukraine. More info here.

Join us at the CinEast Ukrainian Evening with the folk-rock band Joryj Kłoc. Ukrainian short films programme “The One Minutes Jr. Ukraine“, Ukrainian food and a DJ set are also on the menu of this special event at Rotondes (20/10).
Four short film marathons presenting some of the most remarkable short films from CEE countries (fiction, documentary and animated) are on the programme, starting with fiction shorts (South) at Neimënster on Tue 11/10.
The Ukrainian avantgarde ensemble DZ'OB will perform live at Neimënster on Wed. 19/10 at 8 pm. Think of Aphex Twin meeting Shostakovich.
We are proud to host the national premiere of Pamfir by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk. The film was co-produced by Adolf El Assal from Wady Films (Luxembourg) and also Klaudia Śmieja from Madants (Poland) - both will attend the screening on Tue 18/10 (Ciné Utopia 7 pm).
Two well-known actors attending the festival on Sunday 16/10: Zbigniew Zamachowski talking about his rich career after Three Colours: White (Cinémathèque), and Hana Vagnerová sharing secrets about Borders of Love (Neimënster).

The vernissage of the "Communities" photo exhibition takes place on Thu 6/10 at the Cloitre in Neimënster. In the presence of the curator Martyna Szymańska, free entrance. The exhibition will be freely accessible until 23 October.
The debate Ukraine at a Crossroads tackling the context of the current situation in Ukraine with directors Christina Tynkevych and Denys Husakov will follow the Ukrainian Short Films Programme on Wed 12/10 at 8pm at Neimënster.
