Yuanwu Overview
In Wuthering Waves, Yuanwu is a 4-Stars Electro character and uses Gauntlet during the fight.
Yuanwu, the owner of a boxing gym, is a courteous and humble man who exudes poise and self-assurance in everything he does. With his expertise in the Leihuang martial arts style, he has also achieved mastery in the field of health management. He embodies a harmonious blend of power and grace.
Yuanwu Review
Yuanwu is a 4-Star Electro character in Wuthering Waves.
A character whose damage is based on defense, using Resonance Skill to summon Thunder Wedge that can perform synergy attacks with on-field characters.
The Resonance Liberation can grant Lightning Infused status to the character and teammates, and has a unique Vibration Strength depletion Outro Skill. High Resonance Chain Yuanwu can also provide high-value shields to teammates.
Pros
High defense, strong survivability.
Cons
- There is a conflict between high defense scaling and off-field benefits.
- Although Yuanwu’s Outro Skill can deplete Vibration Strength, it only reduces it by 10%,
which is not very significant. - The ability to deplete Vibration Strength while in the Lightning Infused state is not significantly enhanced, and reducing Vibration Strength for boss-level enemies relies more on the Intro Skill.
- Additionally, the Anti-Interruption ability provided by Lightning Infused is not very noticeable, making the benefits of Resonance Liberation very low and somewhat meaningless.

The on-field character gains the effects below when in the Thunder Field: a Coordinated Attack from Resonance Skill Thunder Wedge is triggered when attacks hit a target, dealing Electro DMG. This can be triggered once every 1.2s. The effect lasts for 1.5s.

Thunder Uprising
When you have full ‘Readiness’, Resonance Skill Thunder Wedge will cast Thunder Uprising, dealing Electro DMG.
Lightning Infused
The character in Lightning Infused state has a greatly increased anti-interruption.
When Yuanwu is in this state:
-Basic Attacks: Hits targets in a larger range, depletes enemy Vibration Strength faster;
-Heavy Attacks: Attack speed is increased, deplete enemy Vibration Strength faster;
-Dodge Counters: Attack speed is increased, deplete enemy Vibration Strength faster.
-Use Basic Attack within 3s after casting a Heavy Attack or a successful Counterattack to cast Thunderweaver, dealing Electro DMG, considered as Basic Attack damage;
Yuanwu does not recover ‘Readiness’ in this state.
Readiness
Yuanwu can hold up to 100 ‘Readiness’.
When Resonance Skill Thunder Wedge is on the field, Yuanwu gains 6 ‘Readiness’ every second, even when he is not the on-field character;
When Resonance Skill Thunder Wedge hits a target with a Coordinated Attack, Yuanwu gains 5 ‘Readiness’.

Main DPS – Jinhsi
Jinhsi relies on teammates’ coordinated Attack to maximize the rate of stacking “Incandescence” in order to maximize the damage of enhanced skill. Therefore, prioritize selecting teammates with coordinated attack mechanisms.
Sub DPS – Yuanwu
Yuanwu is also a viable option of teammate of Jinhsi. Yuanwu’s efficiency in stacking “Incandescence” through coordinated attacks is comparable to Mortefi’s, and the operation is simple; occasionally switching to Yuanwu to use his Skill can maintain coordinated attacks. However, the downside is the slow acquisition of concerto energy, making it difficult to consistently trigger the Moonlit Clouds set. Therefore, another approach is suggested: equip Yuanwu with the ‘Rejuvenating Glow’ set and use “Cruisewing” as the Main Echo to trigger the ‘Rejuvenating Glow’ set, and then let the Healer carry ‘Moonlit Cloud’.
Healer – Verina/Baizhi
Since both Verina and Jinhsi are Spectro characters, and Verina’s ‘Jué’ echo skill provides a 15-second DoT, each coordinated attack by Verina only provides 2 points of ‘Incandescence’. Additionally, the cooldown of coordinated attacks does not match the cooldown for stacking ‘Incandescence’, so during the 10S Liberation period, Verina can only provide Jinhsi with about 14-16 points of ‘Incandescence’. If the character is attacked or the boss moves during Liberation, the amount of ‘Incandescence’ obtained will be even less.
Baizhi’s Liberation can also provide coordinated attacks, and it deals Glacio damage, with each coordinated attack providing 3 points of ‘Incandescence’. During the entire Liberation period, 12 points of ‘Incandescence’ can be obtained. An S4 Baizhi will have two additional coordinated attacks, increasing the ‘Incandescence’ gained to 18 points. Moreover, Baizhi’s attacks are unique in that they do not need to hit the enemy to trigger, and Baizhi’s coordinated attacks can also trigger Yinlin’s coordinated attacks. The downside is that Baizhi gains concerto energy slower than Verina and has a 5% lower ATK buff, which is also a single-target buff.

Danjin
High damage, low survivability. Among 4-star characters, Danjin has the highest overall damage output. The Resonance Chain benefits are the highest among 4-star characters.
With a smooth-damage output flow, a high Resonance Chain Danjin has damage close to or even surpassing low Resonance Chain 5-star characters. Danjin has the shortest attack animation lock in the entire game. In a single damage output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Heavy Attack account for approximately 45% and 42% respectively.
Danjin’s unique feature is that using Resonance Skill accumulates Forte Circuit Energy even if it doesn’t hit the enemy, thus in actual combat, the proportion of Heavy Attack damage will be higher.
Chixia
Obtained immediately upon entering the game, this character has the highest burst damage among four-star characters and is the best fit for the Battle Pass Pistol. Using R1 permanent five-star weapons as the 100% standard, a fully leveled Battle Pass Pistol can reach 110%.
In Chixia’s burst damage output, Resonance Skill damage accounts for over 60%. If the Double-Boom Boom technique is mastered (using Resonance Liberation immediately after the second Boom Boom and then using Boom Boom again after Resonance Liberation ends), the proportion of Resonance Skill damage can be even higher.
Although the Resonance Liberation Energy requirement is quite high, the Resonance Liberation Multiplier is the highest among four-star characters, making the damage very considerable.
Mortefi
A off-field synergy attack character with great potential. It is the 4-star up character in the same banner as Jiyan.
The Outro Skill buff is very suitable for Jiyan, making it Jiyan’s best support so far. Due to the Inherent Skill 2 has increment effect, the theoretical damage provided during the Resonance Liberation is very high. Additionally, the efficiency of Resonance Energy and Concerto Energy acquisition is decent.
