Lingyang Overview

Lingyang, a genuine and empathetic outsider in the human community, radiates sincerity in his interactions.
By a stroke of serendipity, he found himself becoming part of the Liondance Troupe in Jinzhou, driven by a profound aspiration to alleviate fear and apprehension in others through his captivating and electrifying performances of the “Liondance”.

In Wuthering Waves, Lingyang is a 5 Stars Glacio characters and uses Gauntlet during the fight.

Lingyang Review

Lingyang is a permanent 5-Star Character in Wuthering Waves.

Glacio DPS character among the permanent 5-stars, gains a significant Glacio damage bonus after activating Resonance Liberation. Due to Echo Skill benefiting from the character’s elemental damage bonus, Lingyang and the Echo “Lampylumen Myriad” have a high compatibility.

Activating Forte Circuit enters the Striding Lion state, enhancing both Basic Attack and Resonance Skill, and all attacks switch to aerial mode.

After unlocking Inherent Skill 2, using Resonance Skill in aerial mode can deal additional damage. In the damage output after activating Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack and Resonance Skill each account for about 30%.

Pros

  • The Resonance Liberation and QTE cycle is very smooth. Even without Energy Regen, Lingyang can fully charge Resonance Energy after two teammates trigger their Outro Skills, without needing any attacks in the normal state.

Cons

  • High difficulty to master, making it hard to avoid damage during aerial combat and relatively weak against super-armor enemies.
  • Damage distribution is too balanced, making it weaker without a character providing Glacio DMG Deepen through Outro Skill.
  • Skill forms are not excellent, lacking strong crowd control abilities except for Echo Skill.

Basic Attack

Lingyang’s core mechanism is from Forte Circuit. Therefore, the first priority for upgrading is Forte Circuit, followed by Resonance Liberation. Although Lingyang’s Resonance Skill DMG accounts for a significant portion of his damage, Resonance Skill includes both the regular Resonance Skill and the enhanced Resonance Skill provided after the third segment of the normal attack. Thus, it should be the third priority for upgrading.

Lingyang Burst Rotation

  1. Intro Skill (Switch to Lingyang)
  2. Resonance Liberation
  3. Echo Skill (Lampylumen Myriad)
  4. Heavy Attack(OR Basic Attack if Lion Spirit is full)
  5. 1~5 sets(Basic Attack + Resonance Skill)
  6. Basic Attack (Stormy Kick)
  7. Basic Attack (Tail Strike)
  8. Outro Skill (Switch to next character)

This is not the best rotation, but it is more friendly for beginners. Echo is Lampylumen Myriad. The Sub DPS triggers is switched to Lingyang, whose Intro Skill can restore Lion Spirit, which is very important. Use Resonance Liberation to start the burst, first use Lampylumen Myriad’s Echo Skill (the Glacio DMG buff brought by Liberation also applies to Echo Skill’s damage). Here, you can choose to press Echo Skill only twice or three times. If you only press Echo Skill twice, there is a chance that the final Tail Strike will benefit from the Sub DPS’s Deepen buff (but in actual combat, if you dodge the boss’s attack, this might not hold true, so use it with discretion). The cost is one less stack of Lampylumen Myriad’s Buff . Then start the burst by using Heavy Attack to enter the Striding Lion state (if Lion Spirit is full, use Basic Attack). Next, perform 1 to 5 sets of “Enhanced Basic Attack + Enhanced Resonance Skill” (depending on the Lion Spirit during the burst, with full Lion Spirit, you can perform 5 sets), then follow with two Basic Attacks. Because at this point, Lion Spirit is below 10, it will trigger Stormy Kick and Tail Strike. At this point, Concerto Energy will be full, then switch to the next character.

Sequence 1
Sequence 3
Sequence 4
Sequence 6

As a permanent 5-star character, Lingyang’s Resonance Chain improvements are modest. Only Sequence 6 provides a significant increase in damage for Lingyang. Sequence 1 doesn’t enhance damage but increases Anti-Interruption during the Resonance Liberation state.

*The % increase is relative to the previous Resonance Chain. Sequence 2 is related to energy restoration and is excluded from the damage increase calculation.

Lingyang Echo Skill Priority

Because Echo’s active skill benefits from character attribute damage bonuses, and Lingyang’s Liberation can provide a 50% Glacio damage increase, the 12% Resonance Skill damage boost provided by Lampylumen Myriad is particularly beneficial for Lingyang, whose damage largely comes from Resonance Skills. Therefore, Lampylumen Myriad has a very high priority as the Main Echo for Lingyang.

However, it’s important to note that after Lingyang uses Resonance Liberation and fully charges the passive energy, do not press the attack button, as it will immediately start consuming energy. After using Lampylumen Myriad’s Echo Skill, use a heavy attack to activate Forte Circuit.

Lingyang Team Comp

Lingyang Best Team 1

Sub DPS

Because Lingyang gains 40 Lion’s Spirit from using the Intro Skill and 60 Lion’s Spirit from Liberation, Lingyang only needs the Intro Skill and Liberation to activate Forte Circuit. During Forte Circuit, Lingyang can gain a large amount of Concerto Energy, which can almost ensure that the QTE is triggered after the enhanced state ends, allowing a switch to teammates for output.

At this time, the teammates’ role is to replenish some Concerto Energy for Lingyang and quickly trigger QTE to reactivate Lingyang. Therefore, Sanhua, who can quickly obtain a large amount of Liberation Energy and Concerto Energy, is the first choice. Additionally, Sanhua can provide Lingyang with 38% Basic Attack DMG Deepen. Even with zero Energy Regen, Lingyang can fill Liberation Energy through the above cycle after teammates trigger the extension, without any normal attacks.

Although Taoqi can provide Lingyang with 38% Resonance Skill Deepen and improve survivability, Taoqi’s Liberation Energy and Concerto Energy acquisition rate is too low, making Lingyang’s activation slower, and is therefore not recommended.

Healer

Both Verina and Baizhi are healers that can provide All-types DMG deepen and ATK% increase to teammates. While Verina is more comprehensive that her buff is longer and Verina can protects a party member from fatal damage every 10 mins.

Lingyang Best Team 2

Main DPS

Because Lingyang’s Resonance Skill releases quickly and the Outro Skill’s multiplier is high, Lingyang can also equip the Lingering Tunes set and use Mech Abomination as the Main Echo. This setup works well with characters like Encore, who also lack strong Outro Skill buffs, by frequently inserting Resonance Skills and Echo Skills to supplement damage.

However, since the Outro Skill cannot be upgraded, this strategy is effective in the early game but lacks potential for the late game.

Healer

Verina’s healing abilities and Concerto Energy acquisition abilities are both greater than Baizhi’s, making her the preferred healer character. Verina’s Inherent Skill provides a one-time death immunity effect. Baizhi also has a similar effect that is even better, but it requires unlocking at Sequence 5.

Verina’s healing amount is based on her ATK, so Verina has a certain degree of damage output. If you build it well, her damage should not be underestimated.

Verina’s Inherent Skill can provide a 20% attack buff to the entire team, while Baizhi can only provide a 15% attack buff to a single character.

More Build Guides

Danjin

High damage, low survivability. Among 4-star characters, Danjin has the highest overall damage output. The Resonance Chain benefits are the highest among 4-star characters.

With a smooth-damage output flow, a high Resonance Chain Danjin has damage close to or even surpassing low Resonance Chain 5-star characters. Danjin has the shortest attack animation lock in the entire game. In a single damage output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Heavy Attack account for approximately 45% and 42% respectively.

Danjin’s unique feature is that using Resonance Skill accumulates Forte Circuit Energy even if it doesn’t hit the enemy, thus in actual combat, the proportion of Heavy Attack damage will be higher.

Chixia

Obtained immediately upon entering the game, this character has the highest burst damage among four-star characters and is the best fit for the Battle Pass Pistol. Using R1 permanent five-star weapons as the 100% standard, a fully leveled Battle Pass Pistol can reach 110%.

In Chixia’s burst damage output, Resonance Skill damage accounts for over 60%. If the Double-Boom Boom technique is mastered (using Resonance Liberation immediately after the second Boom Boom and then using Boom Boom again after Resonance Liberation ends), the proportion of Resonance Skill damage can be even higher.

Although the Resonance Liberation Energy requirement is quite high, the Resonance Liberation Multiplier is the highest among four-star characters, making the damage very considerable.

Mortefi

A off-field synergy attack character with great potential. It is the 4-star up character in the same banner as Jiyan.

The Outro Skill buff is very suitable for Jiyan, making it Jiyan’s best support so far. Due to the Inherent Skill 2 has increment effect, the theoretical damage provided during the Resonance Liberation is very high. Additionally, the efficiency of Resonance Energy and Concerto Energy acquisition is decent.
