I am writing to seek your assistance with an issue I have encountered while using the Yoast SEO plugin on my website.

I have successfully created a robots.txt file using the Yoast SEO plugin, and I can access it without any problems through my web browser. However, I have recently encountered an issue where Googlebot is unable to access this file. Google Search Console has notified me that my robots.txt file is unreachable.

This issue is concerning because it may affect my website’s visibility in Google’s search results. I have double-checked the settings within the Yoast SEO plugin, and everything appears to be configured correctly. Nevertheless, Googlebot continues to report that it cannot access the robots.txt file.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could assist me in resolving this matter. It is essential for my website’s SEO performance that Googlebot can access and read the robots.txt file.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your response and guidance on resolving this matter.

I also tried disabling the Wordfence and WP Rocket plugins, but there was no change. I have also reached out to my hosting provider, and according to them, the issue seems to be related to the Yoast SEO plugin.

I’m experiencing the same problem on three different WordPress websites. Google Search Console notifies me, that my robots.txt file is unreachable. All three websites use Yoast SEO (free version) and WordPress 6.3.1.
