"Echo's Edge"[2] is a theme from Kirby Star Allies that plays in the stage with the same name. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

A heartwarming gift from the freezing land.

"Echo's Edge" is a whimsical theme in C major and 5/4. Its edgy syncopated intro is set in A-flat major's dominant, and this rhythmical pattern persists throughout the piece. The melody comes in with a juxtaposition to C major as short rising phrases come in a tonally unstable descending sequence. The pace slows down for a sweeter transitional section with plucked string tremolos, similar in character to the second phrase of "Cushy Cloud". A nostalgic C minor clarinet solo continues the passage with whistling noises in the background. This is picked up and developed by brass and an organ. After it arrives at a major resolution, a harp glissando returns the music to the intro, and the track loops.
