French flags in America

French America (French: Amérique française) is the French-speaking community of people and their diaspora, notably those tracing back origins to New France, the early French colonization of the Americas. The province of Quebec is the center of the community and is the birthplace of most of the French America. It may also include communities in other parts of Canada (Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario, small communities in Manitoba, and Western New Brunswick), Saint Pierre et Miquelon, New England, Mid-Western states, Louisiana, Florida in North America.

Haiti, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Martinique, and Guadeloupe in the Caribbean; French Guiana (Overseas region of France) in South America.

The Ordre des francophones d’Amérique is a decoration given in the name of the community to its members. It can also be described as the Francophonie of the Americas.
