Tinie Tempah

Patrick Chumbawamba Okogwu Jr.[citation needed] (born November 7, 1988[citation needed]), better known by his stage name Tinie Tempah, is an English rapper from Plumstead, South London. His debut album, Disc-Overy, debuted at number-one on 10 October 2010 and was preceded by the number-one singles "Pass Out" and "Written in the Stars" and the top-five singles "Frisky" and "Miami 2 Ibiza".

Career

His first music video for promotional single "Wifey", produced by Flukes from the production duo Crazy Cousins, became an underground hit holding the Channel U Urban Chart top spot for 10 consecutive weeks in 2006. He released his LP, Disc-Overy on 4 October 2010, with the hit singles "Pass Out", "Frisky", "Written in the Stars" & "Miami 2 Ibiza".[1]

He announced his signing to Parlophone by running a competition on his blog, with the winner invited to High Tea at Claridges to celebrate the deal.[2] He toured with Chipmunk in February 2010. According to MTV, Patrick's major label debut album, titled Disc-Overy (pronounced discovery), is due to release in August 2010.[3] Tinie then announced his second single, "Frisky", which was released on June 6, 2010. Tinie performed at Radio 1 Big Weekend in Bangor on 22 May 2010 on the 'In New Music We Trust' stage and informed the crowd his album would be out in August 2010. He Also Toured With Mr. Hudson In May 2010.

Tinie supported Rihanna for four dates (Nottingham on May 14, Glasgow on 19 & 20 May. London on 11 May) on her 10-date UK tour with Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott.[4] On 28 May 2010, Tinie performed at summer balls at The University of Chester, The University Of Winchester, London Metropolitan University, Hertfordshire University and Bangor University on 29 May as well as The University of Kent on 5 June, and Imperial College London on 19 June. He also performed at the May Ball of Clare College, Cambridge and College of St Hild and St Bede, Durham University.

Tinie Tempah played at Wakestock in Abersoch on July 3, 2010, played at T4 On The Beach on July 4, 2010 and also played at the Summertime Ball which was held by Capital FM the radio show in Wembley stadium. He played on the Pepsi Max Stage at the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park on July 4, 2010. He played both days of the V Festival in Chelmsford, Essex on Saturday 21 August and Weston Park, Staffordshire on Sunday 22 August. "Written In The Stars" is the third single[5] from Disc-Overy, the debut album, and was released on September 27, 2010 where it topped the charts on October 3, 2010; the day before his album release.
