Hey, your talk page is a little different. Not really sure what's cool here or not. "Delete" or archive all you want, you can even move this to my page if you'd like, or just ignore me. Hopefully, I'm not a bother. What do you think about userboxes? I mean, you use them. Is there a WP on it at all? I feel like they can lead to Argument from authority as well as the number of years and number of edits metrics. But enh, that isn't always bad. But I mean you've been here for a bit I wouldn't mind some kinda real intro. This media format is a little strange. But, I guess it grows on you. Endercase (talk) 03:48, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Endercase: Some people really dislike userboxes, others seem to go mad filling their user page with silly, trivial boxes. I'm relaxed about them, and use some which give pertinent information. There is a wp guideline about their use, at WP:UBX. I don't see the slippery slope to argumentum ad verecundiam unless someone is falsely claiming credentials in their user boxes and citing themselves as an expert. I didn't get your ping good thing I've been stopping by every so often. I have often been the end of an argumentum ad verecundiam here (were they use my local (Wikipedia) inexperience as their sole or main argument), likely it is because often experience really does lead to greater understanding. I don't think that experience should be the main or sole value system in any honest discussion, but that is just my POV.

I think you might be missing a word "Wikipedia's real endemic problem is [here] instead one of groupthink", I tried looking through all your diffs here but it looks like it was always missing.

I notice you opined earlier concerning Winkelvi. You may want to revisit the section as it has been proposed that a mentor be appointed, possibly in conjunction with an immediate unblock. I see that there is a useful essay on the subject, of which I was not aware. See WP:MENTOR. Also I was appalled by the attack on you on that page. If you wish to escalate, please ping me. On the whole, I've never previously had concerns about my—rare—interactions with Drmies. This particular occasion, however, demonstrated a deliberate, nasty, attempt to mock and undermine my opinion by using a blatant straw man ad hom. I've no desire to escalate it. He is welcome to go forth and be fruitful, alone or in company. On the whole, despite being one of the cool kids, I try to avoid being dragged into wikidramas by "professional" passive-aggressives; I have a mental list of "Cunts whose opinions I disregard" and that serves me well. He dumped this garbage on my talk page. Perhaps he should leave a similar warning at the essay that you quoted, as it contains identical language.
