In the American Radio Relay League and the Radio Amateurs of Canada, an Affiliated Club Coordinator is the assistant to the Section Manager for radio club matters. The ACC is appointed by the Section Manager to encourage club affiliation with the national organization on a section-wide basis. The ACC post is arguably one of the more important appointments in the section field organization, as clubs are, in effect, a "microcosm" of the field organization: club incorporate many, if not all the elements of the latter. E.g., emergency communications, publicity, public service, technical expertise, local interference committees, to name but a few. There is only one ACC appointed in each section of the American Radio Relay League Field Organization.

ACC Responsibilities

1. Familiarity with the Amateur Radio clubs' members and officers in the section. Learn their needs, strengths and interests and work with them to make clubs a more effective resource to their communities.

2. Encourage affiliated clubs to become more active and, if the club meets a specified criteria, encourage and assist them in applying as a Special Service Club (SSC).

3. Help clubs establish workable programs to use as SSCs.

4. Approve Special Service Club application forms and pass them to the SM.

5. Work with other section leadership officials (Section Emergency Coordinator, Public Information Coordinator, Technical Coordinator, State Government Liaison, etc.) to insure that clubs are involved in mainstream ARRL Field Organization activities.

6. Encourage new clubs to become ARRL affiliated.

7. Ensure that affiliated clubs file annual reports (updates officers, liaison mailing addresses etc.).

Full membership in the ARRL is a requirement for an ACC appointment.
