Güz sancisi or Pains of Autumn is 2009 released movie directed by Tomris Giritlioglu and written by Ali Ulvi Hünkar (writer), Yilmaz Karakoyunlu (novel). it was release on 23 January 2009 and was priced by the critics. the story is about love story between a creek christian prostitute and a muslim nationalist during the events of September 6th-7th in 1955. The movie focus on the nationalist movement of the mid century.

Güz sancisi is about Behcet (Murat Yildirim) who is the only son a father in whom the government and the bureaucracy take a close interest due to his strong influence in Antakya. While he is working as assistant researcher in the faculty of law in Istambul, he falls under the sway of the extreme nationalist movement as a result of his upbringing and the influential role model of his father. the only thing that causes Behcet to stumble on this is the woman he secretly observe from his apartment Elena. She is a creek prostitute who lives has been exploited by her grand mother after her mother left them. Elena was aware that she is being observed by Behcet and falls in love with him. Their destiny cross and they get close to each other which will not please to his father and to the party he belongs to. The death of his friend Suat and the role that his father play with the leaders of the party to exterminate the opposition and even the tolerated voices will push Behcet to reconsider his political belonging.

The movie ends with the action caused by the extreme-nationalist who destroyed the houses and the belonging of all the non Muslim people living in the Istambul. Within a Scene of destruction and hate, Behcet finds Elena alive after being hit by the activist. He takes her and remembers the words she said while laying on the bed in her apartment.
