Hello Nasty is a studio album by the Beastie Boys. It was released on July 14, 1998.
Four years elapsed between the release of the band's fourth album, Ill Communication and this album. Hello Nasty continues the Beastie Boys' artistic progression, expounding upon Check Your Head and Ill Communication's instrumental tracks. Hello Nasty also marks the addition of DMC champion Mix Master Mike into the fold. The album also features a few songs that break away from the hip-hop mold, and hold a slight post-punk feel; for example, "And Me". The song "I Don't Know" is a soft, acoustic ballad.
The album sold 681,000 copies its first week and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart.
