Rangiya is a major city of Lower Assam and also the headquarters of Kamrup district in Assam, India.^[1] It also the 4th Largest railway station Rangiya Junction station in North-EastRangia is also known as the Garden Valley city of Assam, City of Colors, Gateway to the Indo-Bhutan Border. The government of Rangia is Rangia Municipal Board, the municipality is maintained the city. The first Train resturant of Assam located at Rangia. Rangia ancient name is "Randiya".

Rangia covers an area of 9.6 square kilometers and is divided into 10 wards where regular elections are conducted every 5 years.^[2] Rangia Municipal Board was established on 1st January, 1956. With a population of 27,889 (as per 2011 census), Rangia Municipality covers an area of 9.25 sq. Km.. The Municipality authority of Rangia is consistantly working heard to provide better, clean, hygenic urban facilities to the citizen of the city. Rangia Municipal Board has total administration over 6,215 houses to which it supplies basic urban amenities. It is also authorize to build roads, construct drain system, develop PARK, within Municipal Board limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.
