Alexandria of Africa by Eric Walters
Finding herself in a court of law at the mercy of an unforgiving judge, rich and spoiled Alexandria faces time in a juvenile detention centre for shoplifting. At the last minute, Alexandria is offered the opportunity to participate in a ‘diversion program,’ instead of spending time in jail, to travel to Africa to help build a school for a village in need. Alexandria soon finds herself in the midst of elephants, cheerful volunteers, and a world completely unlike her own. She must accept the challenges before her and in doing so, gain a better understanding of respect, money, and friendship.
