Francis’ school plans a trip to NYC, but his family is unable to afford it, so Francis asks the principle if he could do some work around the school to pay for the trip. Everything is fine until he get a call from his mom when in New York. When he is backing home, he found out that his father had committed suicide at home. This tragedy completely changes his life; his friends, his role in the family, which now incorporates taking care of his younger brother and his mother. Francis deeply misses his father, but at the same time, doesn’t understand why his father abandoned his responsibilities at home. Francis is unable to cope with this difficult time and eventually sinks into depression.
