Last Spring, Tee’s father was hit by a drunk driver and was left with the mental powers of a five year old.
A rough summer later, Tee goes back to school, where she meets Ethan, the new kid. After a rocky start they become fast friends and even manage to slip in a date or two between family emergencies and hospital visits. Life is returning to normal again as her father regains his memory and her mother moves back home.
Just when Tee thinks everything is going to be okay, her life takes a nasty turn. Her Aunt George’s house is set on fire with her aunt and their dog inside. Tee needs a break, she needs to get out, she needs some distance, she needs to follow her own path, and she needs to ‘Fight the Current.’
