Jake, Reinvented by Gordon Korman
This story is from the point of view of a boy named Ricky who is a high school senior and best friends with the most popular boy in school, the star quarterback. When a new kid moves into the town, he instantly becomes very popular. He is cool, funny, he’s got the looks and he plays football. He also throws a huge party every Friday night with a big keg of beer and about 500 people. Everything is going great until Jake decides that the only girl in the town that he likes is the most popular and beautiful girl, who also happens to be the quarterback’s girlfriend. When things start to get out of control, people start to uncover Jake’s secret which changes everything. I really liked this book, it was funny, had a good plot, was unpredictable and had more than one thing going on at a time. It was also like a big mystery, trying to figure out Jake’s secret.
