Digging for Philip by Greg Jackson-Davis
Philip is 14 years old and is struggling with the death of his father. He is a real loser with some big problems and is prejudiced against Native Canadians. Spending the summer at a cabin on a lake, he digs up a mound which turns out to be a burial ground. The restless native spirit forces him to properly lay to rest the dead natives around the lake. Through the work the spirit helps Philip to rise above his grief and become a better person. Philip is a very complex character and things don’t happen as you would think.
