The Girl with a Baby by Sylvia Olsen
Jane is a 14 year old popular teenager, and the only “good” Williams. She gets good grades and has always been a part of the drama program – until she gets pregnant. Now she can just hear the neighbours whispering “they’re all the same” and “she is just like the others”. Jane will have to find a strength deep inside her, to keep being a teenager AND a good mother. I loved this book. It showed me what having a baby at such a young age would really be like and how much inner strength you would have to have to survive. It says how important family bonds are and what you can do if you set your mind to it. I think that girls would like this book a lot more than boys would because it is from a girl’s point of view and it is about more or less girly stuff. But if you are a girl read this book!
