Me and the Blondes by Teresa Toten
Sophia has been trying to hide her crazy family from the world. Her mother is loud and boisterous and her father is in jail, charged with murder. When she starts at a new school, Sophia thinks she has a chance to hide the truth about her family in order to fit in with the Blondes, a group of popular girls who rule the school. Slowly, Sophia works her way into their clique and onto the school’s basketball team. Soon, Sophia realizes that even the Blondes have dark secrets. But what happens when one of the Blondes finds out Sophia’s secret? Through the trials of high school, Sophia figures out that even though nothing is quite as perfect as you expect it to be, you’ll always have good friends to go through it with.
