Whistler is a major character in the Buffyverse. He is a half-demon, being born of a union between a pure-blood demon and one of the angelic Power that Be. Dedicated to keeping the world balanced, Whistler was responsible convincing angel to help Buffy fight evil. However, after he tried and failed to enact the Twilight-prophecy, Earth was cut off from all the other dimensions and lost its magic, which broke Whistler's mind. From there, he went down a dark path, dedicated to bringing back magic at all costs.
