~ Talon. |
Talon was a Bang Baby who was recruited into Ebon's gang and a supporting antagonist in the Static Shock series. She was a mutated bird-woman who was able to fly and emit a powerful sonic scream.
She was voiced by Tia Texada.
Biography[]
Before the Big Bang, she was presumably a street person of Latin origin. Her real name is Teresa.
She was affected by Quantum Vapor gas and didn't like her new appearance. Ebon recruited her into his gang, the Meta-Breed. Because of joining Ebon, she fought Static numerous times.
When the Joker came to Dakota, he formed a metahuman gang and Talon was one of their members, and played a crucial part in the abduction of Batman and Robin. Static arrived to free the Dynamic Duo, igniting a fight in the Joker's hideout. Robin defeated Talon with a bola.
After a while, she begins to turn against Ebon. When a Bang Baby antidote is revealed to have been sprayed in the air around Dakota and reverts the Bang Babies to their normal states, Talon is eventually restored to her human form, a young Latin-American woman (which she is shown to be glad about). When Ebon attempts to get her to leave with him, she refuses, telling him, "I want to be normal again!" After Ebon is shown to lose a little bit more of his powers, she adds, "See? We're all going back to the way we were!"
Talon willingly gives up crime, and at the hospital, she admits to Static and Gear that reverting back to normal was "like waking from a nightmare, and I never want to go back". When Gear says they're glad for her while still calling her Talon, she replies, "Please don't call me that. My name's Teresa." She also helps Static and Gear find out about Ebon's master plan.
At the hospital (where she'd been kept overnight for observation), she was kidnapped by Ebon to be an unwilling test subject for the recreated Big Bang, but she broke free. When Ebon grabbed her and told her that nobody quits being a part of his gang (including her), he was forced to release her when his arm retracted itself as a result of his losing his powers. She then replied, "You're scared. You were nothing before the Big Bang, and that's what you're gonna be again — nothing." When Ebon tells Hotstreak that he'd told him to keep her quiet, Hotstreak instead agrees with Talon (possibly because he knew she had a point). After Static and Gear appear on the scene, they steal the canister forcing Ebon and his goons to chase after them to get their powers. With everyone leaving her, Teresa frees herself from her binds and runs to escape. She later comes across the brawl between Ebon and Hotstreak, before seeing they have released some of the gas. Quickly covering her mouth, she immediately runs from the scene to not inhale the gas and mutate again.
As she was escaping, she released Static and Gear and told them what was happening between Hotstreak and Ebon. Static then tells her to run away. She agrees with him and flees the area.
It's unknown if Teresa was able to escape the ship being destroyed or if she was affected by the New Big Bang, caused by Hotstreak and Ebon. If not, it is possible that she managed to escape without being turned back to her Bang Baby form. But as Kids' WB canceled the series after this, several questions remained unanswered.
