He was voiced by Scottie Ray, who also voiced Utrom and Tengu Shredder.
Biography[]
Past[]
As a contingency in the event of his demise, Ch'rell created a cybernetic engram of himself using a combination of Utrom technology and Earth machinery and sealed the being in a cyber vault for safekeeping.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles[]
At one point, whilst travelling through time, the Turtles end up in a future where the Utrom Shredder and the Tengu Shredder are engaged in battle with each other. However they were also fighting a Shredder the Turtles had never seen before (the Cyber Shredder) but he still knows who they were.
Eventually, Viral finds and tries to acess the vault but it instead hacks her. Helpless, she is overwritten by the sentience and the Cyber Shredder is created. He contacts a devoted Foot Clan operative, Master Khan, and plans to make his escape from cyber space to conquer New York. Cyber Shredder has his first encounter with the Turtles when they enter cyber space looking for pieces of Splinter. Though they escape him, he discovers they have a cyber portal which will be his ticket out of cyber space. After Hun and the Purple Dragons start to raid Foot treasure vaults with use of advanced technology, Cyber Shredder becomes suspicious since such plans are beyond Hun who is a usually thoughtless thug.
He links into Dragon HQ, finding out that Baxter Stockman hsd been hacking into the Foot Database. The Cyber Shredder realizes Stockman's cyborg body could be a means for him to escape cyber space so he successfully takes control of it, making a few additions to it so it resembles his appearance in cyber space as well as power gauntlets to increase its power. The Cyber Shredder proceeds to wreck Dragon HQ and is pleased when the Turtles show up albeit though Donatello. However, when Stockman joins forces with them, Donatello gets into Cyber Shredder's base and takes away his control.
Cyber Shredder's next plan is to make the Turtles into his slaves when they find a cluster of Splinter's data in cyber space so he uses a virus on them. It brainwashes the Turtles so that they think they are Foot Ninjas loyal to Cyber Shredder who commands them to take care of the Purple Dragons. Though Casey, April, and Serling succeed in bringing out their memories and freeing them from Cyber Shredder's control, whilst Donatello was under his control, Cyber Shredder had extracted the memories he needed to construct a cyber portal so that he can leave cyber space. After completing his cyber portal, Cyber Shredder needs to make sure it works completely and sends virtual animals from a nature website to the real world.
However, each one sent through comes out mutated and wreaks havoc in the city so the Turtles have to deal with them. The Cyber Shredder works on his portal so each animal is less mutated than the last and eventually perfects it, sending a non-mutated chipmunk and cyber version of Khan through. The Turtles realize what the Cyber Shredder is up to and, whilst Leonardo and Raphael head to where he plans to emerge, Donatello and Michelangelo enter cyber space to deal with him. Donatello manages to hack Cyber Shredder's portal whilst he is uploading himself to the real world but he comes out mutated and partially data. This lets the Turtles use darts on Cyber Shredder that delete his cyber life forms, sending him back to cyber space but he swears to make them part of his escape.
The Cyber Shredder manages to trick the Turtles into believing they are in the real world when they are still in cyber space which allows him to spy on Donatello while he repairs the cyber portal which Cyber Shredder makes him believe has melted down. Khan and the Foot copy his work, building another cyber portal but Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael notice strange occurrences happening. They soon realize that they are still in cyber space and what the Cyber Shredder is up to and stop Donatello from completing the cyber portal. However, the Cyber Shredder uses a spy bug to take a sample of the energy from the Turtles portal which is all Kahn and the Foot need to finish their cyber portal, allowing the Cyber Shredder to enter the real world. The Cyber Shredder hacks into New York's central hub, taking control of all the systems in the city. The Turtles soon discover his presence in the real world and enter the hub to undo his actions before it beomes permanent.
Donatello and April manage to free the city from Cyber Shredder's control but the Turtles are unable to beat him in combat. However, Michelangelo uses the same trick Splinter used against the Utrom Shredder in the first battle, tricking Cyber Shredder into cutting the catwalk they were on. As a result, he falls onto an electrode, damaging his body but his digital core is unharmed. Cyber Shredder's gauntlet pierces a wire, allowing him to return to cyber space and the energy he absorbed as a result of the electrical surge makes him stronger than ever.
The Cyber Shredder later succeeds in infecting one of the last of Splinter's data bits with a virus before the Turtles can get it. After they convert Splinter back into matter, the virus becomes a homing beacon that the Cyber Shredder uses to track them. He finds them at Casey and April's wedding taking place at Casey's grandmother's farmhouse before launching a full attack on the Turtles and wedding guests. In the fight, Cyber Shredder attempts to kill their friends by collapsing the barn upon them but they manage to escape. Donatello extracts the homing beacon from Splinter, using it to get a sample of Cyber Shredder's digital core. With this, Donatello is able to use Serling's decompilier blast to bear and bring an end to Cyber Shredder once and for all.
Personality[]
As the digital clone of Ch'rell the Utrom Shredder, Cyber Shredder supposedly shared his original self's megalomanical and ruthless nature, which was exacerbated by a mystical connection with his late predecessor Tengu Shredder. That said, Cyber Shredder was more driven by the desire to restore Foot Clan back to its former glory and re-conquer New York with any means necessary rather than continuing what Utrom Shredder started. He even also seemingly lacked his original self's hatred toward Utroms and perceived them as mere nuisances at best; while attacking April and Casey's wedding, he didn't even acknowledge the Utroms being there, just casually tossing one around without any second thoughts or banter. This jarring difference didn't help Cyber Shredder's feud against his own creator Utrom Shredder in an alternate future.
It also seemed that Cyber Shredder was not quite as arrogant and a bit more proactive than his creator; whereas Ch'rell merely viewed the Turtles as an inconvenience who wasted his time when they interfered with his plans (in fact, he was even willing to leave Earth without finishing his conquest there or his business with them), Cyber Shredder, on the other hand, frequently insulted them and mockingly urged them to meet their doom.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a cybernetic engram fused with Viral, Cyber Shredder can attack networking lines and, when needed, consult that information and upgrade. As a digital being, the Cyber Shredder can move and control cyberspace; He can also infect various computer software. In addition, he has several abilities in this area, such as changing his shape or controlling virtual frameworks, and the only limitations are those created by the outside world. Due to being an engram of Utrom Shredder, Cyber Shredder possesses a lot of combat skills and cunning, mainly using his edged gloves in battle.
As a physical entity, the Cyber Shredder has superhuman strength and reflexes, which he has enhanced through selective programming and information upgrading. He still possesses some of his cybernetic skills, but their exact abilities are unknown. He can also extend his arms and claws, even using his left claw to create a force field around him, as well as unleash a blast of cybernetic energy powerful enough to knock the turtles down to the ground.

~ The Cyber Shredder when confronting the Ninja Turtles in Cyberspace for the first time. |
“ | I know not of what you speak, but you should have learned by now that nothing can stop the Shredder. I have long since been prepared for any contingency. You see, by an amalgamation of Utrom technology and your pathetic Earth machinery, I long ago created a digital ingram of myself, a backup that was constantly renewed and could be resurrected should anything happen to my corporeal form. This engram was locked away for safekeeping in the vault until some strange cyber life form attempted to break into the vault and activated its defense mechanism, the mechanism that released me allowed me to absorb and commandeer this viral being so that I am as you see me now. I would wonder how you came to be here in this digital realm, but it matters not! You soon won't be. Now that I have you within my grasp, you shall be destroyed. | „ |

Trivia[]
- The name "Cyber Shredder" was first used in the video game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue for a cyborg version of the Shredder, which was later playable in the Super Nintendo version of TMNT: Tournament Fighters.
- Cyber Shredder served as Ch'rell's alternate costume in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash-Up.
- In the future Viral showed the Turtles, Cyber Shredder is in conflict with both the original Ch'rell and Tengu Shredder, showing that Ch'rell cannot even ally with himself; despite being the same person, they would ultimately backstab each other or refuses to share power.
- It is implied that the Shredder Wars were aborted thanks to the deletion of Cyber Shredder. Paying in mind that the 1987 series Shredder arrived a short time after Casey and April's wedding. As there had never been two people sharing the mantle of the Tengu Shredder at the same time, this may have been what revived him.
