~ Luthor launching missiles at the Daily Star.
Alexei Luthor is another worldly version of Lex Luthor who is Superman's archenemy in the Pre-Crisis era of DC Comics, wishing to eliminate the super being for being in the way of his bigger plans. being the Golden Age, red-haired counterpart with a mysterious background, He is much different in exchange to his neighboring counterpart, where he is a seclusive, envious and Hate-mongering Scientist who seeks to global hegemony and terror in the world.
Biography[]
Alexei first appears fomenting a war between the Belgarian nations of Galonia and Toran from behind the scenes, hoping to send the other nations of the Earth at each other's throats so that when they are sufficiently weakened, he can step in and take charge. To this end, he kidnaps Lois Lane and kills one of his own men to keep his intentions secret, only to be fortunately stopped by Superman and the war prevented. From that point going forward, Superman and Luthor remained mortal enemies for decades, at one point launching missiles in a failed attempt to kill all of Superman's friends at the Daily Star out of pure spite. During this, Superman traces Alexei to his hideout by simply listening to the missiles' radio frequencies, defeating and sending him to prison.
Allying himself with Earth-1's Lex Luthor, Alexei and him switch places within their own dimensions, trying but failing to kill their respective other's Superman, upon which the two Luthors retreat to Earth-3 and meet Ultraman. There, Alexei reveals that he built an ion tractor beam months before he and Lex even met, revealing his plan to materialize Earth-1 and Earth-2 into each other, thus destroying both worlds to finally be rid of his enemies while taking Earth-3 as a "consolation prize". Thankfully, Alexei, Lex and Ultraman are all stopped just in the nick of time by the Supermen of Earths-1 and 2 as well as Earth-3's Alex Luthor, thus saving the two worlds. both Lex and Alexei went back to prison afterwards.
Making his last appearance in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Alexei gets abducted by Earth-1's Brainiac and becomes jealous upon seeing his silver age counterpart once again as the robot's commanding spokesman, Alexi himself complaining that two Luthors isn't needed as well as claiming that his intellect is above greater than earth-1's. Brainiac debunks his word and dismisses his chance of replacement due to closing onto the decision into his own hands and promptly vaporises Alexei until he was turned to dust, killing him.
