Oh, a new friend! I'm so excited! Welcome! I heard we might be getting a new student here soon, so I put together this little welcoming party for ya. It's really nice to have someone new to play with. Don't tell the others, but they've been getting pretty boring lately. But you'll spice things up around here, won't ya? You can share everything with me; all your secrets, all your mistakes, all your pain. That's what best friends are for, right?
~ Agatha greeting Doug Houser upon entering Elementary Evil.
I welcomed you here and I tried so hard to be nice with you but you don't care! You don't want to be my friend, you just want to steal my things! You're a mean... bad person! Now you're in trouble. You made Daddy mad too...
~ Agatha after completing Act 2.

Agatha is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Lucky the Rabbit) of the horror game Dark Deception and Super Dark Deception.

She is voiced by Kat Cressida.

Biography[]

Background[]

Agatha was the daughter of the maid that worked for Bierce when summoning the demon Malak. Agatha was used as a sacrifice and transformed into the monster she is today. E notes that her soul was corrupted by the pain and rage she felt when she was alive.

Original Demo[]

When player enters her nightmare, Bierce warns her about Agatha wanting to play hide and seek and confirms she doesn't care if they are ready or not, the level starts and the player has to collect 600 shards in total, Agatha (alongside her duplicates) will teleport to player as a way of chase in order to kill them as they laugh sadistically with them glitching the player's vision.

While not interacting with player, she leaves out a message of introducing teachers with their blood as her victims are in the bag sitting or laying on chairs.

Once the player collects 300, Bierce reveals that Agatha is saddened by the fact Player is taking her playmates.

After all are collected, Bierce will inform the player that puzzle piece is revealed, once the player reaches puzzle piece the results will show up and give rank based on player's success.

It's unknown what happened to her after this level, but according to original plot, she was presumably destroyed alongside her nightmare.

Elementary Evil[]

Agatha first appears in the auditorium in Act 1, greeting the player into her realm. Unlike other enemies in the game, she mainly uses a cat-and-mouse strategy with hunting down the player, chasing after them if she sees them. She can also detect the player through them opening a door. From Act 2 onwards, she will often relay on teleportation ability. In the second and final act, she alongside Malak chases after the player, but the player escapes.

In the Enhanced edition, Agatha remains mostly the same, but when she blocks off the player in the final act, it instead initiates a boss battle against her. In it, she attacks by teleporting to random locations into the room, charging towards the player and placing fake portals throughout the room, making it harder to avoid her. The player must survive until the door opens, which Agatha then pursues the player until the player escapes.

Agatha is also heavily implied to be the ghost of a girl that went under intense suffering, loneliness and sadness according to a secret found in the level.

Chapter 3: Retribution[]

Crazy Carnevil[]

While having no physical appearance, Agatha appears as a cutout and plushie alongside previous nightmares.

Chapter 4: Mortal Ramifications[]

By Bierce's explanation, Agatha was presumed to be destroyed once and for all after Doug escaped with her ring piece, however after Malak invades Bierce's Ballroom and recovers from her attacks, his clones transform into the monsters Doug encountered in the previous chapters, including Agatha. As Bierce stumbles in disbelief, Agatha teleports onto her and stabs her through the chest with her fingers. After leaving her on the floor, she proceeds to taunt her, greeting Doug as Malak approaches her. She continues to treat Malak as a father figure, which he reciprocates by allowing her to slaughter Bierce later. After complaining about not being allowed to do so immediately, Agatha continues to taunt the wounded Bierce. She is then warded off along with the other monsters after Bierce unleashes the power of her ring piece.

Bearly Buried[]

Agatha does not make any physical appearance in this level, however in one of dialogues from Malak, he has a small conversation in which Malak denies to let Agatha watch Doug collecting Soul Shards and orders her to stop annoying him.

Appearance[]

Agatha appears as a figure resembling a human girl wearing a black dress over a white shirt with no shoes and what appears to be a cast on her right leg, but with a twisted appearance She has gigantic, charred claws, empty eye sockets, and a large grinning mouth with yellow teeth. When Agatha is in her Frenzy state, she gains red glowing eyes and changes her undershirt to the same color.

Trivia[]

  • In concept art, the chosen art of her is different than design that was used during that time, as her dress is dark blue and she had more blood on her.
  • She, alongside the Murder Monkeys, were the only enemies in the original demo of the game to be implemented.
    • In said demo, her AI was different than what was supposed to, there were multiple Agathas, and they could easily catch the player by teleporting in front of them and had the ability to glitch the player's vision, however their weakness is the player running backwards or suddenly changing direction.
