Acheron is a major antagonist in Winx Club, serving as the overarching antagonist of the season 6.
He is the creator of the Legendarium who wants become the most powerful wizard in the universe to conquer it. He uses Selina, once a young fairy, to be able to free himself in exchange for portentous dark powers, making her the witch of snakes. At the end of season 6, Bloom traps him in the Infinity Box within the Legendarium, which Selina locks forever with the Legendarium Key.
In the original version he is voiced by Marco Bassetti; in the English version he is voiced by Sam Riegel.
Appearance[]
Acheron is a pale-skinned sorcerer-man with a hooked nose, bright yellow pupilless eyes with typical sorcerer markings above them, and a carefully trimmed dark beard. He wears gray armor with a large yellow gem on his chest. Under him he wears a long hooded red tunic with large hanging sleeves.
Powers and Abilities[]
As the creator of the Legendarium and a powerful sorcerer, he can invoke any powerful creature to attack its enemy. Even when he was trapped in the Legendarium, he was able to do things like teleport Selina to the Lost Library of Alexandria. When he was free from the Legendarium, he was able to create lightning and bursts of dark magic and also showed to be powerful enough to send the Trix into the Legendarium and make Cloud Tower fall. He can also create some dark magic to protect himself (to hold Bloom's Dragon's Flame). When he created the Legendarium, he was stronger than his opponents (except for the Dragon's Flame, with the Winx's Bloomix.) Acheron may know some basic, first-level spells that all wizards can use, such as telekinesis, transmuting objects, fixing minor messes. Like all wizards, he can fly. He can also shoot red beams of energy out of his hands.
History[]
Pre-Series[]
Acheron was a very powerful sorcerer who wanted to conquer the Magical Dimension. He spent his entire life creating the Legendarium, a magical book capable of bringing to life all creatures created within it. However, after attempting to conquer the universe with it he became trapped inside it himself and the book ended up in the Library of Alexandria on Earth.
Much later Eldora and Selina found the book and the former forbade Selina to know about the Legendarium. However, one night, full of anguish and sadness, Selina was convinced by Acheron to use the Legendarium to free him and in exchange he would help her become the very powerful snake witch, so she stole the Legendarium and ran away with it and Acheron in the Forest of Flowers. So, Selina enrolls in Cloud Tower for their plan for work with the Trix.
Season 6[]
In "The Golden Auditorium", after the Treants failed to take over Linphea College, it is revealed that Selina is in fact working under the orders of a mysterious dark being called Acheron housed inside the Legendarium.
In the "Attack of the Sphinx", Acheron tells Selina to find Eldora's Diary and destroy it before the Winx do because it is the only link to telling how to seal the Legendarium for good.
In "The Fairy Godmother", Eldora tells the Winx what happened in the past.
Selina later intends to steal Bloom's Dragon's Flame, assuming it is the only way to free Acheron. When she fights her, she tells her that Acheron is her friend with her and had gotten over Eldora, leading Bloom to defeat Selina without giving up despite Acheron's warning. In "Mystery of Calavera", Selina tells Acheron that she can't stand the Trix not sharing their powers with her. Then Acheron tells her to suggest that the Trix send the Winx to the Legendarium to defeat them. In each mission the Winx find an item to lock the book, Selina mentions to Acheron that if the Winx complete their mission, it could not be released.
In the "Legendary Duel", Selina is ready for anything to attack Bloom despite being her friend and steal some of her Dragon's Flame so that she can free Acheron.
In the episode "Acheron", Selina finally manages to free Acheron from the Legendarium with a part of Dragon's Flame managed to steal it from Bloom. However, Acheron is revealed to be a double agent by revealing that he has been using her all along and begins absorbing all of the Magic Dimension's powers. In an attempt to trap Selina in the Legendarium, he ends up doing it with the Trix when they try to take them both out, then Acheron summons a hydra. Bloom, however, manages to beat him and take back his magic, sending Acheron back to the Legendarium, but the sorcerer still manages to drag Bloom with him.
Inside the book Acheron fights with Bloom and eventually ends up being trapped inside a magic box given to her by Eldora and delivered to Rumpelstik, so after stopping the Trix as well, Bloom manages to get out of the Legendarium. Selina and the Winx finally manage to seal the Legendarium forever, in which the Trix and Acheron are trapped. Selina, repentant, strengthens her great friendship with Bloom and returns to Eldora's pupil.

- Acheron is similiter to Valtor, since they both want to become the greatest sorcerer of the Magical Universe.
- He is the first villain who appeared as voice only in most of the episodes instead of a person.
- He is the only villain who appears physically once.
- Apparently, he can be considered the weakest antagonist because he has his physical appearance in only one episode but unlike Darkar and Valtor, he is only captured and not destroyed.
- According to Greek mythology, the Acheron was one of the seven rivers of the underworld.
- Since the moment he got freed, Acheron is the only villain that was defeated the fastest.
- In 3D his eyes glow while in 2D they do not.
- Currently, both Acheron and Kalshara are the only antagonists that are neither featured nor mentioned within the Winx Club Comic Series.
