You Meet In A Tavern, You Die In A Dungeon is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler where all the characters are destined to die.

Bringing a party-game mentality to the one-shot RPG session, You Meet In A Tavern, You Die In A Dungeon helps you go from character creation to a violent end in a thrilling dungeon in a time that suits you.

With a rules-light system that's easy to pick up and teach and lets players jump in-and-out as they please, this is a perfect game for beginners, con-games, or your regular RPG night.

All you need to play is 2d6, a d12, and a pack of standard playing cards.

How does it play?

A session of You Meet In A Tavern, You Die In A Dungeon can be played in 2 hours, or longer if your party want to keep adventuring, with mechanics for triggering the end of the session when everyone is ready and support for joining late or leaving early that still provides players with a meaningful RPG experience.

In The Tavern,  players will work out their backstories, receive an ill-fated quest, and get hints at how their Dungeoneer will die.

In The Dungeon, The Dungeon Keeper will generate Rooms and Hazards with a deck of cards and a few dice rolls, giving players opportunities for wild feats of adventuring and creating spotlight moments for each player's Dungeoneer to die.
