Abstract
The rapid development of digital media has created better conditions for cultural dissemination, innovation, and multicultural integration. Changes in new media technology have facilitated media convergence while dramatically changing the way culture is communicated. As a city with a long history and diverse cultures, Macao has unique historical and cultural symbols, and the Macao Light Festival is an important case to explore the innovative communication of digital media in urban culture. It is found that Macao culture is a typical multicultural culture composed of people from different cultural backgrounds, and this multicultural fusion has become Macao's charm and characteristics. Digital media plays an important role in the integration of Macao's multiculturalism. And it can also enrich the connotation of traditional culture and strengthen cultural ties. The Macao Light Festival uses digital technology to create a unique visual art experience that present Macao's culture, history, and creativity. Through the interaction of digital media, audiences can have a more immersive and personalized participation experience. In addition, the use of digital media enables the Macao Light Festival to reach out to a global audience, attracting participants and artists from different cultural backgrounds and promoting multicultural exchange and dialogue. The development process of the Macao Light Festival reflects the collision and fusion of Macao culture and contemporary digital media. This paper can provide reference and inspiration for other regions in the intersection and proliferation of digital media and cultural activities.
