French Antique White Cotton Maid's Apron / Delightful White Apron with Lovely Pleated Detail & Long Ties This is a really pretty French antique service apron, acquired from an auction in the beautiful royal city of Pau, south west France. Made of cotton, possibly with some linen in there as well, the apron has delightful pleats on the bib. Hand made, this is exquisitely executed with tiny lace detailing around the square shaped bib, and also on the edge of the two side pockets, which are prettily designed in a triangle shape at each edge of the apron. There are wide ties that crossover at the back and tie with buttons, and then two wide waist ties. Overall, a very well made item. In lovely condition, there is one small black mark on the front, not overly noticeable and I will re-launder it again to see if it disappears. An elegant apron perfect to add a touch of bygone nostalgia to a vintage tea room, for example. Measurements Length 68cm / 26.7" plus ties Waist 62cm / 24.4" plus 80cm / 31.5" for each tie I scour brocantes, vide greniers, auctions, and all sorts of nooks and crannies to find wonderful old French treasures and it is a passion that grows greater by the day.
