To fit the hardware, you'll need to follow these steps: 1-Clean the surface where the latch will be attached, to ensure that the screws will grip securely. 2- Align the catch against the two doors / drawers making sure it is positioned correctly. Be sure that you can close the latch before you drill the holes and allow for the gap in the doors / drawers. 3- Mark the centre of each hole with a pencil. Drill pilot holes where the screws will be inserted, to help prevent the wood from splitting. The pilot holes should be slightly smaller in diameter than the screws, we recommend a 1.5 or 2mm drill bit. 4- Insert a screw into the hole , and screw it into the furniture BY HAND. Do not use an electric screwdriver and stop once the screw is flush / tight. Repeat this process for each of the 4 screws. 5- Once all the screws have been inserted and tightened, you should have a secure fit for the hardware and the latch should close easily. . You should not clean your brass hardware with anything abrasive or any metal / brass cleaner. Simple use warm water or a damp microfibre cloth. If you polish the brass, you will need to maintain this action regularly as the surface is now exposed to oxygen and will oxidise over time.
