Join us! And help to build knowledge and expertise in solving sustainability transformations and equitable low-carbon living. The JUST Centre, based in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Manchester (UoM), is launching in February 2025, and we need a driven centre manager to help us support its initiation and running. JUST stands for Joined-Up Sustainability Transformations and has been funded for five years under the ESRC’s Sustainable and Equitable Low Carbon Living call, part of UKRI’s Building a Green Future theme. JUST is a Research Centre dedicated to generating the knowledge, evidence and capacity needed for sustainability transformations within communities, organisations and sectors and moving public debate on net zero beyond current tensions and resistances towards the productive joining-up of decarbonisation and social justice so that no one is left behind. Its interdisciplinary team comes from five universities (Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds and Lancaster) and has the Institute of Community Studies (Young Foundation) as its impact partner. #Energyjustice, #energypoverty and #socialinfrastructure challenges will play a central role in our new 'Centre for Joined Up Sustainability Transformations (JUST)', led by the awesome Sherilyn MacGregor and The Young Foundation, together with many long-standing collaborators (including Matthew Paterson, Helen Holmes, Claire Hoolohan, James Evans, Lucie Middlemiss, Danny MacKinnon, Alexandra Gormally, Peter North) as well as communities in and around The University of Manchester, University of Leeds, University of Liverpool, Lancaster University and Newcastle University. I am excited to be co-leading the 'infrastructures' theme , and very much looking forward to dialogues with related projects and initiatives; particularly Energy Demand Research Centre (EDRC), UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC), Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP).

Congratulations to all our winners at last night's awards. It was a pleasure to host so many of Manchester's legal community to share the pro bono spirit. We look forward to collaborating much more closely across the region going forward, and already planning next year!
